📣Registration is now open for the 2024 CA Coastal Network Workshop! 📣

On Monday, November 18^th, 2024, join Conservation Ontario and your CA colleagues for a one-day workshop co-chaired by Charles Priddle (HRCA) and Bonnie Fox (CO).

ABOUT

You are invited to register for the November 2024 CA Workshop because you are either a member of the Coastal Working Group (CWG) or you have been identified as a CA Coastal Projects lead in 2023. This workshop serves as the Fall meeting for the CWG and will bring together CAs across the Great Lakes region. This is an opportunity to share your current questions, needs and successes!

Join us for a full-day workshop to enhance knowledge transfer mobilization within the CA coastal network. The 2024 workshop will be collaborative, with a mix of presentations, breakout group sessions and networking opportunities. There will be a strong focus on shoreline management plans, shoreline hazard mapping initiatives, and climate change modelling in flood hazard mapping. Including case studies and success stories from past and ongoing coastal shoreline projects.

Participants will benefit from the insights of CAs who have successfully navigated the coastal Request for Proposal (RFP) process, the development of shoreline management plans and the implementation of shoreline permitting software. Together, we will discuss best management practices and lessons learned to support adaptation work for coastal resilience across the network.

LOGISTICS:

The cost of the workshop is $30+ HST per person. Please note that registrations are non-refundable.

This workshop is open to all members of the CWG and CA Coastal Network. We encourage staff at all stages of their career to attend and join the discussion. Two spaces are available initially for each, please email kfranken@conservationontario.ca should you wish to register additional staff.

A lunch and refreshment breaks will be provided. The workshop will be hosted at the Element Vaughan Southwest Hotel in Vaughan (Oak Room). Parking (and limited EV charging) is available onsite. The hotel has provided a discounted accommodation rate for those interested (booking must be made by November 14th, 2024).
